I love them

I bought these for an upcoming international flight but I haven't even been on the flight yet and am loving them. I was reluctantly got the three pack but I am so glad I did as these are worth every cent! They help so much to wear after a lot of walking or a hot day, and allow my feet to remove fully before the next day. They've reduced any swelling, and they also look pretty fashionable. The only issue is I do find them hot to wear at night in QLD and have to have the aircon on often to make it tolerable.

Compression Socks

I chose these socks as I hoped they would be easier to put on. I am not in the pregnancy age group, in fact almost 80, but they did work better than others I have tried.

EXTRA Stats you need to know

  • Up to 80% of women experience insufficient circulation during pregnancy. This can result in feeling dizzy & tired.
  • About 65% of pregnant women suffer from ankle, leg & feet swelling. Your body is holding more water than usual & extra fluid gathers to your lower legs & feet. It can be worse in summer or you've been standing or sitting a lot. The pressure of your growing womb can also affect the blood flow in your legs.
  • Your body needs to deliver more oxygen & blood to both you & your growing baby. Your body creates 50% more blood & your heart works 30% harder during pregnancy.
  • At 12 weeks the placenta is formed and takes over to deliver essential nutrients from maternal blood flow through the umbilical cord to your unborn baby. For this reason good blood flow is vital to the growth and development of your baby. To learn more about the role of the placenta and the importance of blood flow to baby you can read more in our blogs.
  • Studies have found that if you sit or stand for 4 hours or more, circulation can be compromised.
  • Postpartum fluid retention is still common, even months after birth. The extra fluid volume that occurred during pregnancy and in preparation for birth, can still exist within the tissues in the body.
  • Women who have been induced will also have fluids introduced via the hormone and saline drips that are absorbed into the body. The excess fluids in the body result in swelling & puffiness.
  • The additional fluid can be excreted through your sweat and urine. Movement and improving blood flow and circulation is also important to assist the removal of waste fluids. TheRY leggings and socks with 15-20mmHg compression can help improve circulation to facilitate this process.
  • In the first 6 weeks following birth you are 3-5X more likely to develop blood clots. This is also due to the extra time recovering or sitting nursing your baby when movement is restricted.
